Warlock and Sunspot from the New Mutants are returning home after many days on the run. Sunspot, dealing with anger control issues, finds a chance to be heroic after spotting the villain the Vulture committing a crime. His attempts to apprehend the man go badly.

Power Pack, who have once again snuck out of their apartment in the middle of the night, attempt to improve Sunspot's confidence by giving him a fake villain (Julie, in disguise) to fight. This also proves to be disastrous, and eventually Sunspot and Warlock simply go home.

Back at the Power family's apartment, Maggie and James have realized that their four children are once again missing, and are frantic. When the kids attempt to sneak back into the house, and claim that they'd been sleeping on the roof, their parents read them the riot act. While Katie is excused because of her young age, Alex, Jack and Julie are grounded and restricted from watching television, seeing friends or making phone calls as punishment.
